So as many of you may know I totalled my car over memorial weekend. I miss my little honda civic so much you have no idea. The up part of it is that I get to buy a new car. Yeah me! I have never had a new car before so it is hard for me to choose. What if I pick the wrong one? And hate it later. That would really suck. I am nervous cause I don't want to go too expensive but yet I want what i want ya know? Right now I am really interested in the new 2009 toyota camry they are awesome! But at the same time I really like the new Honda accords. They rock too. SO as you can see I don't know what to do. Dustin does all on menlove's work so we will get the toyota at cost which is a way good deal. Not only that they are a few grand cheaper than the hondas too. I need to make a choice soon so I can give the father in laws car back which we have been so greatful that we are able to use it. THanks guys! As soon as i get my new car You all know i will post pictures!

Finally nearing the end!
Tavis is finally sleeping through the night which means mommy and daddy are happier and not so grumpy. He went so long without eating or drinking I had to manipulate him a little bit and tell him that if he didn't take a bite of his jello than he would have to go to his crib for the night, which he hates. So he cried and cried but finally took a bite, looked at me and said "mommy no hurt" so i think that he just got to the point that he would not try anything because he thought that it would hurt. He ate the whole jello container. We were so exited and he started to drink too. YEAH!!! Things are going in the right direction finally and he is doing very well. Although he still has that silly nemo bandaid on this throat. What ever works I guess. He still has a hard time swallowing now and than but for the most part he is back to his old self. Today was his first day back to preschool. He did not eat lunch but did great other than that. He is so happy that he can go swimming again and if anyone knows my mom she lives at the pool in the summer so he gets to go almost every day!
We will go to his follow up appointment if a couple of weeks and it should BE ALL OVER!!

Tavis' Rough Recovery
Well the last four days have been really rough. We have not gotten any sleep through the nights. Tavis has been spiking temps off and on but I think that is normal for a few days as long as they don't get too high. He has his good moments and his bad moments depending on if he is on pain medication or not. Which for some reason he is refusing to take now without a huge fight. Probably because it tastes nasty. Dustin does not like what it does to him anyways. He gets all loopy and doesn't look right at all. He is not eating or drinking only went to the bathroom once yesterday and the day before so we think that he is on his way to dehydration. He now has a finding nemo band aid over his throat because he thinks that it makes it feel better and we all know what nemo fan he is! Whatever makes him feel better I guess right? Fathers day is coming and our family's all have fun things planned but I think that it would be best for us to just stay home. He does perk up a little when Dustin gets home from work and takes a few sips of his dr pepper. I wish he could just stay home all the time until he gets better. I have a feeling that we have a ways to go unfortunately but we will get through it just fine and hope that this surgery WILL help him not get sick so much.

Day of surgery!
Well we had to be at the hospital this morning by 6:30 to check in. Tavis did great even t
hough he had to wake up so early. The nursed and doctors all said that they have never seen a two year old that was so good he just sat there and let them assess him. Did his blood pressure, all that fun stuff. They recommended that they start an IV and give him some medication to help him stay calm due to the fact that most kids his age have anxiety when leaving their parents. We decided not to because we thought that he would be fine. That way they would not have to start the IV untily he was asleep. So he would not remember it. While in the waiting room waiting for them to take him back he got to ride around a
spiderman bike. He loved it! The anesthesiologist let him ride it into the operating room where they were going to do his procedure. It was so cute because we got to go with him most of the way. When they got to his room he turned around on his bike, waved and said "by everyone" went into the room and shut the door. He is such a tuff little guy!
His surgery took about and hour than he went to the recovery room where as you can see he did not come out of the anesthesia very well he was really mad and crying. They would only let one parent come back at this time. So of course you all know it was myself that got to go back. When he got to recovery he had a little bit of a hard time breathing so they had to
Anyways I will keep everyone updated on how his recovery is going.

What time does Tavis go in for surgery?

Well we finally go the word from the hospital and we are to be there to check in by 6:30am. If you all know Tavis you know that he does not get up before about 10:30 or 11:00am so he sure is going to have a long day. He is not allowed to eat anything after midnight tonight. But he can drink applejuice, water or sprite until 5am. We are so greatful that he is going in so early so that we don't have to worry about him being hungry all day long. I always feel bad for the parents and child when that happens to my patients at work. Anyways he is in good spitits and if you ask him he will tell you "I am having surgery, at mommy work, tonsils out." I am sure that he has no clue what that all means but it is cute. Well wish us luck and keep us in your prayers. Thanks! We will let eveyone know how it goes and of course I will have more pictures to share!

Tavis surgery coming soon!

Tavis goes into surgery on Tuesday June 10th to get his tonsils out. We are really nervous but we know that things will be OK. Hopefully after this he will not get sick as much and feel better. Dustin and I took him to a pre op class so that he could see what the OR is like and how the nurses and doctors will be dressed and look when the care for him. He got to dress up like a doctor and nurse and play with all the equipment. He checked out daddy's ears and mommy's throat. It was really fun for us. We will keep you updated on what time he goes in on Tuesday, we will not know until Monday afternoon.
